A Week’s Worth of Romantic Gestures for Him

Updated: Feb 5, 2021

Hi loves! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I’m sure (if you’re a good girlfriend) you’re looking for something special for your boo. I occasionally wrack my brain trying to come up with something creative and cute to do on special days. I’d much prefer to give a gift that’s creative and personal, but my creative juices aren’t always in abundance. (Ugh!) If you’re like me in that sense, you sometimes need a little help putting together a romantic plan. That’s what I’m here for! We’re going to make his Valentine’s week pop (with a little pre-planning).

Sunday

Cook a meal together. You don’t have to slave over the stove to create a masterpiece for him. (No one’s asking you to be Emeril.) Make it less stressful on yourself and include him. You guys can get messy and make pizza or a pasta of your own creation. Get creative and have fun (just make sure it’s edible).

Monday

Introduce him to a playlist you created just for him. Make a collection of songs that mean something to the both of you and give it a clever little name. Play around with hybrids of your names or just something you both can relate to when creating the name. Be sure to only include songs with positive memories. Any trip down memory lane must be a good one! (That means no songs that were playing in the background while you were arguing or coming close to breaking up!) Let’s let those memories die! Think love and positivity when you’re making your playlist.

Tuesday

This is perfect night to pick a new series or movie to get into. There’s nothing like watching a series or show to bring a couple closer. Just make sure it’s nothing problematic. Couples have argued over hypotheticals while watching HBO’s Insecure or similar shows that highlight cheating and relationship drama. These type of shows may not be the perfect fit for this special week, but you get the idea, right? Try something action packed or interesting for the both of you. (Netflix honorable mentions: Any of the Marvel series, Stranger Things, and Ultimate Beastmaster)

Wednesday

This may be cheesy, but hear me out. Wouldn’t it be fun if you guys could write your own song together? I swear it could be the most hilarious thing you’ve ever done, or it could spark a new creative flame between the two of you! Either way, search instrumentals on YouTube and let the creative juices flow! Who knows? You guys may write a hit!

Thursday

Design a scrapbooking page and/or shadow box dedicated to your relationship. You can try doing this with him or doing it without him and just presenting it to him. Michael’s or JoAnne fabrics will be your best friend here. I love getting little shadowboxing ideas from Pinterest! Walking through one of the stores will lead you to scrapbooking and shadowboxing gold! Have fun with it and make it really cute!

Friday

This is the perfect night for a movie! With Black Panther coming out on 2/16, a lot of couples will be hitting the theatres for an action-packed movie screening. Use the night to be a part of the action or spice it up with 50 Shades Freed. Either way, get out and enjoy a flick with your guy.

Saturday

Take this day to orchestrate an active date. (You’ll have a day to recover for the workweek if you overdo it.) Try going to in indoor trampoline park or an indoor rock climbing venue. I love the idea of sharing an adventure with the one you love, AND I like the idea of getting physical in ways outside of the bedroom.

Well, there you have it. A list of things that cost money and things that won’t cost you a thing. You don’t have to create a FULL week because hey… we’re all working women, busy students, or both! Grab a few ideas and run with them. If you’re going for “extra credit”, complete the week. Either way, let me know how it goes! Drop me a line at info@frenchingfrogs.com and include pictures if you like! Good luck and Happy Valentine’s day loves!
